Who we are

Our team is led by Dr Chris Dean, who qualified as a dentist in 1985. He has written many articles on dental law and practice and was a contributor to the textbook for dentists, Dental Law and Ethics, published by Radcliffe Medical Press. Chris is a qualified solicitor and a director in the solicitors' firm,The Dental Law Partnership Solicitors Limited trading as The Dental Law Partnership. This firm of solicitors specialises in assisting dental patients in dental negligence claims.

Susan N'Jie qualified as a dentist in 1986 and has many years of general dental practice experience. In May 2006, Sue joined the Dental Law Partnership as a Dento-Legal Adviser.

Vivienne James joined the Dental Law Partnership in May 2007 as a Dento-Legal Advisor. Vivienne qualified as a dentist from Cardiff Dental School in 1981. Since then she has worked as a dentist in both the NHS and also for a major oil company based in London.

This website gives Chris and our team the opportunity to provide some answers for patients who are seeking more information about their dental treatment. Our team will respond to all questions posted by patients, but may not be able to supply the detailed information or answers that are sought. We will endeavour to provide details of alternative sources of information for patients where possible and if appropriate.

Our service is completely free-of-charge, but is only available in respect of treatment provided in England and Wales. The documents contained in this web site are presented for information purposes only, and neither the material, nor the responses to questions are intended to replace professional dental care or attention by a qualified practitioner. The materials in this web site cannot, and should not, be used as a basis for diagnosis or choice of dental treatment. Askthedentist strongly advises all users with dental problems to consult a dentist.
